VILLAGE GREEN

Public BBQ

Village Green in Helensvale strikes that perfect balance between functional and charming,a rare feat for suburban parks. The undercover barbecue areas provide blessed relief from Queensland's relentless sun, while the playground keeps little ones occupied with swings, an agility course, and a delightfully simple bridge that somehow becomes the star attraction. The toilets are surprisingly well-maintained (thank you, Gold Coast City Council), and there's even a thoughtful dog water tray at the bubbler, though Fido must remain leashed. It's the sort of quietly efficient park that makes you wonder why more places can't get the basics so refreshingly right.
